Raymond Baum

Raymond L. “Skip” Baum Sr. Beloved husband, father, and “Pop-pop” Skip died on Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in East Orange, NJ after a long battle with Leukemia. He was 68 years old.  He served in the US Army as a demolitions expert from 1958 through 1963.
            A truck driver for most of his life he was employed by Sunrise Environmental Service in Elmwood Park, NJ.  After his retirement he was a contractor for the Daily Record Newspaper.
            He is pre-deceased by his father Richard R. Baum, his mother Alice Keller Baum and sister Judith Baum Valentino.  A devoted man, his only hobby was his family.
 He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Candi) and children, daughter Martha-Sue Hemeleski and spouse Thomas, daughter Lenore Nizzico and spouse Keith, son Raymond Baum Jr. and spouse Martina, daughter Teri DelBello and spouse Marino, daughter Alanna McCarthy and spouse Michael, son Michael (Quinzer) Baum and paramour Jenny Carton.  He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, Donovan aged 3 months as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends, especially “The Crew” from Charly’s Tavern.
            A memorial service will be held  a at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 9th at the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home at 1 Baker Ave., (Rt. 46) Dover NJ 07801.  Gifts to the widow may be forwarded through the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home.
