Amena L. Forgey

Amena L. Forgey (Lowery) age 88 of Wharton, NJ died Tuesday, April 7th, 2009 at Morris Hills Center, Morristown, NJ following a long illness. Born October 6th, 1920 in the Mill Brook section of Randolph, NJ. Mrs. Forgey lived most of her life in Wharton, NJ.

 

Amena worked as a machine operator for many years during WWII for Hercules and Picatinny Arsenals, later in life working for Advanced Pressure Casting of Denville, NJ for 23 years before retiring in 1984. She was a member of the UAW Local 365 where she served many years as a union representative.

 

Amena was predeceased by her mother and father, Edward S. Lowery and Jenny Adams, and one son, Roy Edward Lowery. She is survived by her son Gary and his wife Patricia of Landing, NJ and her two daughters Jean Carducci of Randolph, NJ and Georgianna Forgey of Wharton, NJ. She also survived by 14 grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held Thursday evening April 9th, 2009 at 8:30 PM at the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home at One Baker Ave., (Rt. 46) Dover NJ 07801.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Online condolences may be offered through www.smith-taylor-ruggierofuneralhome.com

Dear Gary< Jean,and Georgianna, We are sorry to hear about the lost of you mom. She is one lady I myself will never forget. As a kid I always liked going to see her with my mom.
