Andrew Tince

Tince, Andrew age 93 of Mt. Arlington, died Sunday evening July 13th, 2008 at the Compassionate Care Hospice St. Clares Dover Campus. Born in Westford, CT, Mr. Tince had resided many years in Flanders before moving to Mt. Arlington in 1947. Son of the late John and Agnes (Bartek) Tince, Andrew served as a sergeant in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII from 1942 to 1945. After the war, he began working as a Break Man for the Deleware-Lackawana-West (DLW) Railroad Port Morris, NJ, for thirty years until his retirement in 1977.

Mr. Tince was also a member of the United Transportation Union.  Andrew was a member of the American Legion Post 245 Lake Hopatcong for forty eight years. He was also a member of the VFW, as well as the NCPSSM- National Commission for Preservation of Social Security & Medicare.   Predeceased by three brothers Joseph, John and Charles Tince as well as his sister Helen Olsen, Andrew is survived by his wife Margaret (Thomas) Tince, his daughters Patricia T. and husband Donald Brower of Mt. Bethel, PA, and Linda J. and husband John (Pat) Allen of Mt. Arlington, NJ. Also survived by his brother Anthony Tinc of Mt. Olive, NJ, his grandchildren Jennifer and John Allen, as well as his great grandchildren Aralynne and Paul Andrew Allen. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday July 17, 2008 at 10:30 AM in the SMITH-TAYLOR-RUGGIERO Funeral Home 1 Baker Ave. Dover, NJ. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Chester, NJ. Visitation will be held Wednesday July 16th from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Compassionate Care Hospice #400 West Blackwell (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ 07801.
