Blodgett, Willard F. age 88 of Mine Hill, NJ died Tuesday May 6th, 2008 at the Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clares Dover Campus. Born in Brooklyn, NY Mr. Blodgett had resided in Morris Plains and Cranford, NJ for many years moving to Mine Hill in 1963. 

            Son of the late Willard and Anna (Cavanaugh) Blodgett, Willard F. was a graduate of the Boys High School in Brooklyn, NY. He was a US Army Veteran serving as a Corporal during WWII from 1943 to 1945 in the South Pacific. For fifteen years, Willard worked as the Director of Security for Merrill Lynch of Wall Street, NY. He later worked in the Security Dept. of Piccatinny Arsenal Dover, NJ until his retirement in 1998. 

            A member of the VFW of Kenvil, Willard was also a member of the American Legion of Mine Hill, the Boy Scouts of America as well as the Fraternal Order of Police of Piccatinny Arsenal and Wharton. 

            Pre deceased by his wife Francis H. Blodgett in 2003, as well as his brothers John and Milton Blodgett. Also pre deceased by his sisters Loretta and Muriel Blodgett. Survivors include his son Robert C. and his wife Eileen Blodgett of Mine Hill, his daughter Gail F. and her husband Mathew Caffrey of Beaver Creek, Ohio. Also survived by his grandchildren Kathleen, Kelly, Mathew III, Kristine Caffrey, Rebecca and Kaitlyn Blodgett.

             Funeral Services will be held Wednesday May 14, 2008 at 10:30 AM in the Smith Taylor Ruggiero Funeral Home #1 Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ 07801. Interment will follow in the Locust Hill Cemetery Dover. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home Tuesday May 13th from 3-5 and 7-9.
