| Walter R. Harrington Harrington, Walter R. age 83 of Wharton, NJ died Thursday May 8th, 2008 in Andover, NJ. Born in Hackettstown, NJ he had resided in Lake Hopatcong and the Berkshire Valley Section of Jefferson Twp. for many years. Son of the late William and Anna (Hebendahl) Harrington, Walter was a US Navy Veteran serving during WWII from 1943 to 1946. He served aboard the Liberty Ship Bedford Victory as a Machinist Mate 2nd Class. In 1947 Mr. Harrington was the founder, owner and operator of the Harrington Furniture of Lake Hopatcong where he worked until his retirement in 1994. A member of the American Legion of Lake Hopatcong, Mr. Harrington was an avid Bowler. He was active in the Sparta and Clark Bowling Leagues as well as the American Bowling Congress. Survivors include his sons Brian J. and his wife Loraine of Wharton, Walter W. and his wife Sherry of Centerville, Ohio and Paul M. of Pennsylvania. Also survived by his sister Anna Martin of Edison as well as his nine grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Monday May 12, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the Smith Taylor Ruggiero Funeral Home #1 Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ 07801. Interment will follow in the Rosedale Cemetery Linden, NJ. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home Sunday May 11th from 3-5 and 7-9. | |||||||||||
